Overview
It’s show time at the OGRCC! Whether your toddler is an aspiring performer or your middle or high schooler wants to learn the ins and outs of production, auditioning and acting, the OGRCC has a variety of programs to meet your needs.

The OGRCC works with talented teachers and artists to train your kids from an early age to reach their full potential on and off the stage.

StoryToddlers is presented in collaboration with the Open Arts Alliance and teaching artist Maria Pizzarello.  StoryToddlers is not your typical story time. Youngsters experience their favorite stories without sitting still! Each session explores a different aspect of theater making, designing, performing and storytelling. Participants will get a chance to experience it all while sharpening listening skills, the ability to collaborate and igniting their natural creativity. New tools for the caregiver to use in their day to day activities will be offered.

The final session will be a culminating event and open share. Save the date on Grandma’s calendar and tell her to bring her camera!

Our Drama Workshops are presented under the instruction of Maria Pizzarello and aim to expose middle school and high school students to various elements of performance and to properly train them for the auditioning process.  Maria Pizzarello is a teaching artist with Open Arts Alliance and is the Theatre Program Director of the Darien Arts Center. Maria has been a NYC Public School teaching artist since 2005. Growing up in New York City, Maria attended LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts for Drama, received her BA in Performance from Fordham University. Maria is an Equity actress and also a playwright, published by Stage Partners and Playscripts, Inc.  Workshops are offered seasonally, but currently, there are no workshops being offered.

We are currently not offering this program.

Stage & Film is run by Morgan Murphy of Whitebridge Farm Productions and is a dynamic program designed for any level of experience and will appeal to all who have a desire to perform, work behind the scenes, build self confidence, enhance public speaking skills and challenge themselves in a supportive ensemble atmosphere.  Through games, exercises and a strategic program curriculum, the Stage & Film Class will not only help each child develop their inner confidence to shine and perform in their own way, but will also offer an inviting and engaging artistic experience in film and theater.  The class will feature positive and encouraging experiences in stage and film acting and production techniques, leading into design and production of performing arts projects.

No session will be the same, so children can continue to participate and develop with each session.

There are currently no sessions being offered for this program.

“StoryToddlers was such a great way for me to bond with my 2 year old daughter.  It was creative, fun and one of the few offerings in town for dramatic play at this age!”
