In just two weeks, Greenwich Men’s Rugby will kick off the season against NYRC and begin their fourth competitive fall campaign. Last year, after finishing second in the CT division by a point, Greenwich fell to rival Danbury in the first round of the D3 playoffs. The club strives to improve this year and make an even bigger splash. At the helm is Head Coach Dan Pazio who has over 30 years of rugby leadership experience and the driving force behind the club’s recent achievements. The staff also includes Assistant Coach Saleem Begg focusing on the forward pack and Team Managers Carlos Blanco and Joe Vadala both specializing in the day to day operations.

Greenwich enjoyed some success in the summer 2019 sevens circuit, placing in the top three in each of the four tournaments entered. This was the first summer we participated in a side in the men’s division and showed great composure due to the hard work of Coach Dennis Schmeiler. The club hopes to carry the momentum into the fall season and compete for the Empire D3 championship. All home matches will play in Greenwich at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center or Stanwich School.
